The 2010 annual Ride for Angels has been canceled for this year. We have had tremendous
support over the years and appreciate the efforts of all our sponsors, volunteers and riders. The current economic conditions
have negatively affected our sponsorship opportunities, an understandable but sad casualty of today’s economy. Last
week we received devastating news from our headline act, Grip. Chip Hullender, of Grip, contacted us to let me know that Thunder
Beach in PCB had been re-scheduled to Sept. 30th to Oct. 3rd, from what has traditionally been the last week of
September. Grip has been one of the main acts at Thunder Beach for many years. We understand they have to make this change
to the bands schedule for the first Saturday in October. They are a great band and we wish them well. Chip has promised to
make it up to us down the road.
At this time we do not have plans for moving forward. We are just going to have to
take a wait and see attitude for re-scheduling the event. Thoughts are going around about making this a spring event where
less competition for available dates exists. Your feedback would be appreciated.
All that said, the Fannin County Empty Stocking Fund can use your support. They are
going to be needed more than ever this year. Donations from the Ride for Angels have been a large part of their budget for
many years. Personally we plan to do all that we can for them and encourage you to do the same. Please click on the getting
involved button to see how you can get your donation to the FCESF.
We look forward to seeing you down the road. Till then ride safe!
